£27 Make Ahead Menu Plan

The dust-sheets are gone and it’s time to fill the freezer again.

But this month I’m finding it difficult to find the time (and – ok I admit! – the inclination) to spend a whole day cooking, so I’m going for Once a Week Cooking. I’ll tell you more tomorrow.

And to make things more interesting, we’re back to budgeting. Things were somewhat chaotic in the summer with lots of people visiting and me working more hours, but now it’s time to get back to routine.

So this week’s menu costs £27 for five make ahead meals for four.

Hi Annie, I can not for the life of me remember what I was ‘googling’ when I stumbled across your blog. However the photo of this posting got my attention as I recognised one of the pictures as a recipe I found and now love of the Roast Chicken Soup off the goodfood website. Have you made it yet? It’s soooo yummyand great for using up left over roast chicken. Anyways I am waffling, loving your blog and as I have just started working again I really need to get into gear and start making up some freezer teas. Getting in at around 6pm and thinking of cooking tea just makes my heart sink. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments Sharon! I haven’t tried the Chicken soup but sounds good. Best of luck with your new job – and the freezer meals!

  2. Love this idea! I seriously need to get budgeting better having just spent a small fortune at the supermarket this afternoon and I’m definitely going to have to put a meal plan on the fridge door to stop the kids asking what’s for dinner all the time.

Yes – I haven’t had much success sticking to budget over the summer holidays so I’m hoping we can get back on track now!…
